Dance lessons provide a superb brain-body workout as you visualize and coordinate a series of complex movements set to music. Research has shown that dance lessons may reduce your risk of developing Alzheimers by 75%. No other medication, class, or activity can do that. Dance is definitely health for the Body, Mind and Soul! I have been studying dance, performing in shows, and instructing for over 25 years and loved every minute of it. I am a Kent State University honors graduate from the School of Nursing, and currently a Registered Nurse who works in school clinics and loves working with children. Part of my job includes teaching family living classes in several schools. So, how did my passion for Polynesian and Middle Eastern Dance begin? On a home R.N. supervisory visit, over 25 years ago, I met my client's mother, Plumeria, who was a Polynesian Dancer and Instructor. Her passion convinced me to take my first dance lesson. After a few lessons, I felt invigorated, my self-esteem increased and I felt stronger in mind and body. The immense benefits from dance classes became clearly evident. Dance gave me the stamina and discipline to be more productive in all aspects of my life! I started taking as many classes as possible, including middle eastern belly dance, and have continued dancing and instructing to this day. Dancing has been so meaningful to me, that I feel compelled to share my passion with others. That is why I invite you to observe or participate in one of my classes for free, so that you may discover for yourself the truly life-changing effects that dancing can do for you. If you would like to know a little more of my dance journey - read on! I first studied Polynesian dance under the highly respected dance teacher/choreographer Linda "Plumeria" Lowry of Cleveland and continued dancing with her troupe for over 25 years.
